William Charles Glover, of Hertford, NC passed away on March 31, 2024, at the age of 65. Bill was born in Wake County, NC on May 11, 1958, and was the son of the late Robert Charles “Bob” Glover and Bernice White Glover. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Anderson Glover.

After graduating from Albemarle Academy in 1976, Bill earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1980. He was employed as a surveyor by the UNC Engineering and Construction Company. In returning to Perquimans County, Bill owned and operated G&W Building Supply and later became store manager for the Treated Lumber Outlet in Currituck. In 2022, Bill retired as manager of Kellogg Building Supply in Edenton, NC. Most recently he worked for CSH Builders in Edenton. Throughout his life, Bill maintained an enthusiasm for restoring and remodeling older homes, woodworking, animal rescue, and fishing.

Bill is survived by his daughter Lindsey Elizabeth Glover of Greensboro, NC; his girlfriend Caitlin Shotwell of Hertford, NC; his sisters Karen Nuckolls of Toone, TN and Kathy Dail (Byron) of Winston-Salem, NC; his nephew, David Nuckolls (Amy) of Toone, TN, and his two great nephews, John Thomas Nuckolls and Cole Daniel Nuckolls of Toone, TN; many cousins; and eight beloved rescue dogs which Bill & Caitlin affectionately called “The Girls”.

It is with great sadness that we express how much Bill will be missed by those who knew and loved him. Caitlin Shotwell is planning a celebration of Bill’s life at a later date.
